The first stent sold commercially was used in a patient with caustic stricture at Orange city hospital in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India by Dr Sudhir Tome. The 37 year old patient with caustic stricutre was treated with a fully covered metal esophageal stent 9 months ago which had migrated. The Biodegradable stent was deployed successfully
